Dear NCDTSEA Members:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (NCDTSEA), we hope that as you receive this letter, you and your family members are well and are finding ways to cope with social distancing during this challenging and demanding time. It is with this in mind that we appeal to each of you to follow your county’s plan to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).
In this unprecedented time and in keeping with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order not to assemble, we have cancelled the 50th Annual NCDTSEA Conference in Clemmons, NC. If you made reservations at any hotel in Clemmons, please remember to cancel that reservation as soon as possible.
The refund for your Conference Registration is enclosed. If you included the $40 cost for your NCDTSEA state membership renewal or the $50 for your national ADTSEA membership renewal, that $40 and/or $50 was deducted and retained. The $50 has been forwarded to ADTSEA. Because we are eager to return your registration dollars to you as soon as possible, some of the information that we normally hand out at the conference is not yet available. Please know that your membership renewal receipt and membership card will be mailed to your home address at a later date.
If your conference registration was paid by your school district’s finance office, a check will be sent to your school district’s budget department and earmarked for Driver Education.
We know that some of you needed the CEU Renewal Credits offered by this year’s state conference. The NCDTSEA, NC DPI, and NC DMV- SBTS are discussing this concern and are trying to find some alternative credit renewal offerings. As soon as we receive an answer, the information will be sent to your LEA Coordinator. Please continue to be patient as we work to find a reasonable resolution.
For updates and additional information, please visit our association’s website –
Until we meet again, please be well.
